Go to michaels or joanns. They make wooden pendants. you can also get wood there to carve.
find a hardwood store … they will have all sorts of decorative hardwoods for you to choose from … I wouldn’t recommend lowe’s or home depot …
Lowes or Home Depot do not carry the kind of quality wood you are looking for.
You need a top quality walnut or cherry. Here in my area, I would look for pecan.
Look in a directory for hardwood suppliers in your area. Sometimes your local jewelry making store or bead store would have some good resources to order from.
I once ordered a hardwood sample kit, and made coasters and trivets. I paid about $15 for the kit, and sold the coasters for $10 each, for a nice profit.
Wouldn’t go to either Lowe’s or Home Depot. For wood for a pendant I would check peoples wood piles for mesquite, pecan etc. I obtain a lot of wood I use in this fashion at no cost. So, if you have friends who BBQ or have fire places, pay’em a visit.
